Toolkits and Resource Hubs
As part of our mission to protect all Kansans from vaccine-preventable diseases, IKC developed these toolkits to focus on the priority areas of increasing adolescent vaccine rates, answering common questions on vaccines, supporting COVID-19 vaccination, and promoting the flu vaccine.
HPV Vaccine Toolkit
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common virus that affects both men and women. In fact, HPV is so common that most adults become infected at some point in their lives. People who contract HPV are at risk for cancers and other diseases caused by HPV. Fortunately, this cancer prevention vaccine is
safe, effective, readily available and works best when given at ages 11 and 12 years for the strongest immune response.
IKC strongly encourages HPV vaccinations and seeks to raise the rates of immunization in Kansas. The IKC toolkit is free and full of resources.

Meningococcal Vaccine Toolkit
IKC is working to improve vaccination rates in the state of Kansas, paying special attention to adolescent vaccines - HPV and meningococcal vaccination rates. Meningococcal vaccines help prevent the most common causes of meningococcal disease in the U.S.
Currently, Kansas has one of the lowest conjugate meningococcal vaccination rates in the country. IKC's goal with this toolkit is to maintain MenACWY vaccination rates at or above 80% through the year 2021.

Tdap Vaccine
Tdap stands for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. These are very serious diseases. The Tdap vaccine can protect us from all three of these. The Tdap vaccine is routinely given to adolescents ages 11-12.
The reported cases of tetanus and diphtheria have dropped about 99%. Pertussis has seen a drop by about 80% since the vaccine was introduced.
This toolkit provides resources and information on the Tdap vaccine, and how you can spread awareness to protect fellow Kansans from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.
