Our webinar Childhood Immunizations: The Moral Choice... Medical and Religious Exemptions was held on November 14th, 2023. The virtual event spurred interest among many with 175 registrants and 92 unique individuals attending! Designed to introduce, explain, and answer questions about medical and religious exemptions, attendees learned from key panelists within the fields of public health, healthcare, and ministry. The panelists included:

• Andrea May, MPH, Advanced Epidemiologist, Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)
• Gretchen Homan, MD, FAAP, President of the Kansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (KAAP) and Chair of the IKC Board from 2018-2019
• Rev. Dr. Annie Ricker, Board Chair of Kansas Interfaith Action (KIFA), Clergy United Methodist Church

Many resources were shared throughout this webinar including the K-12 Kansas School Immunization Requirements, KDHE’s Kansas Statues Related to Immunizations, KDHE’s Data Dashboards, IKC’s Data Dashboard, and IKC’s Vaccine Fears Overturned by Facts Booklet.

The event was promoted on IKC’s event webpage, through emails to IKC Listservs and immunization partners, social media posts and ads, and at community events. These promotional efforts allowed them to reach 4,374 individuals across the state!
